Question Wayne- Does Pelican carry microfiche repair manuals?

I'm trying to compile the final "christmas list" and I don't seem to be able to find a link anywhere to a site that carries 'fiche repair manuals for an '87 911. Pelican mentions 'fiche, but gives no further info.

Thanks

Wayne, do you know if Porsche would have any issues with you selling reproduced fiche which they no longer supply?

Try Stoddard Imported Cars. 1-800-342-1414

http://*************/catalogs.html

And pick up one of their catalogs. It's a fair reference and has a few out of the ordinary part listings in it (like microfiche).

Sorry to promote somebody else's business, but Wayne's message indicates Pelican doesn't carry fiche.

Why not buy the Bentley book, Parts and Technical information book, Wayne's book...and why would you need the microfische?

Ok, it's not that I don't carry the microfiche, it's that they are no longer available. So, Stoddard isn't going to have them either, unless they somehow had a large stockpile of them from previously.

I have a feeling that we were the only people who really sold any of the microfiche...

-Wayne

P.S. And yes, I'm sure Porsche wouldn't like me repro-ing their microfiche...

Try Stoddard
use the following pn's
PNA 000 106 1972-83
PNA 000 121 1984-89
I would call or punch the above in the parts search
I just received the C2/4 on microfische and they are the small size so you can take them to the local library and print the pages you need.
Just checked the PNA 000 106 THEY NEED A CALL
THE PNA 000 121 THEY HAVE IN STOCK $17.00
That one can be ordered online.

Question

CWood - I just tried to use the part numbers you gave me... they come up with no data. Are the #'s complete?

Thanks for the help.

Dan

Try it without the gaps i.e. PNA000121 - that will give you the part

Don't bother with the parts search on Stoddard. Just give them a call.

The repair microfiche is a good alternative ($36 I think) to the big bucks for the printed Porsche manuals.

The benefit of the fiche over the Bentley, Parts Reference, and 101 Projects is some of the the spec. info. contained in the fiche. Gives torque values, fastener thread sizes, and other little bits of info. not normally found in the above reference material. Caution!! Don't be misled by my comments about the repair fiche. It is NOT a direct replacement for the complete printed manuals. I believe Leland said the factory manuals are a little vague as well. I don't know if the 84-89 info. is better either since I don't have the printed manuals. The fiche only covers certain repair info. Hence the name Repair Microfiche. There are nine 4x6 films covering General Engine, Fuel System/Starter/Ignition, Clutch/Manual Trans., Manual Trans. 1987, Suspension/Steering/Brakes, Body, HVAC/CD Player, Exterior Lights/Elec. Wiring Diagrams, Elec. Wiring Diagrams #2.

I wouldn't say the microfiche is necessary, but it does have a few things in it that you don't find in the other references mentioned. It's only $30 something, so it's a good deal if you have a fiche reader handy. You can never have too much reference material.

Just my opinion.

check ebay, rennlist classifieds, and pelican's classifieds...

I have seen them there...but why go for microfiche...
either you need a viewer, go to the library, or strain your eyes with a jewelers glass...I know some CD versions are floating around...hmmm...
