whos opened up an air volume sensor?
 

I have a quick ? there is a 'u' shaped copper contact with two sep contact spots which swings around with the barn door. Is this in contact with the board surface at all times or does it warm up like a thermostat then touch to make contact?
mine is not quite touching and want to make sure b4 I put it back together..

The wiper should be making contact with the trace, this site addresses how to adjust to a new arc on the trace - info may help you address your situation.

I had mine apart and as I recall it should touch at all times. Verify that the contact point point of the sweep has good material throughout the range (mine did not and is why I had it open). As stated above, there a e a couple of very good detailed threads on this topic.
