Still no car!
My 911 was wrecked about a month ago. We hit a large log, directly in the center if the car, doing about 60. Little mechanical damage was apparent. Just lots of bodywork. The shop was waiting on parts and thought it would be ready by the 15th. Today they called to say they were calling the adjuster back out as they needed to put it on the "jig" and the insurance had not authorized that.
They say the frame is NOT bent, but it needs to be adjusted on this jig so they can set the car up to factory specs. Does this sound right? |

Judi,
I remember your posting about the accident. I trust you found a qualified shop to do the repairs. The "jig" your shop is talking about is probably a Celete bench. It is the only correct method of making sure the body is straight and true, relative to the suspension. It sounds like your car is being dealt with by pros. Insist the insurance company pay for this vital part of the repair.

I keep telling them I want it RIGHT. This car tracked perfectly before the wreck and I want to mak esure it is right ehe I get it back. Brumos Moteors recommended this shop to me an dthey had many Porches in the yard so I felt comfortable about that. I'm just worried about the car since the shop has had it longer than I dod.!

I swear I'm a better driver than I am a typist and, no, I wasn't driving when we hit the log!
