Selling rare parts, but at wich price ?
Hi guys,
i' been reading this forum for a long time know but just recently registered because i have a question. I have some rare Porsche parts in my posession that i want to sell. The parts are components of the police 911s that where delivered in Belgium (Europe) the parts are: -The stop sign at the back -The emergency blue light at the targa bar ![]() -The horns/siren , wiring loom for these extras and al the interior knobs, bits and parts that are on the dashboard, i also have the 2way and the antenna. i can post foto's of the buttons if interested... somebody is pulling my leg for some time now to put a price on these parts... But whats a reasonable price for these rare original parts with porsche partnrs on them ? |

Certainly rare but it's hard to say how much they would be worth.
No doubt someone would want them.

why not a lengthy auction? Pretty safe to say if you left them on ebay for 60 days you'd get exposure and ultimately the market would fairly value the parts.

Totally agree. Post them on EBAY and do some marketing on sites such as this one, PCA, any sites that might have interested parties. The downside is you need to be prepared to sell.
Alternatively, you might want to reach out to someone like Richard Sloan - who has high end cars and might know of collectors who might be interested. www.sloancars.com Fair price is going to be a subjective thing in this situation as there is probably not a lot of data to support the pricing. Good luck! I am imagining that the blue light might attract a bit more attention on my car in the streets of NYC than I might like!

Isn't there a seller of EXTREMELY rare parts in England. I recall he had near new Mag 935 wheels, NOS aluminum decklids etc.
EDIT: This guy: http://www.racecar.com/edmondharris/about.asp just in case you need to pick up a 906 crankcase or 917 spacesaver rim and tire (!) on the way home from work

I remember in another post I had about a Red Barron RSR tail, that somebody posted they owned one of these cars. I don't remember his user name but he would be a good place to start since he may need these.

This is the kind of stuff that Manfred Freisinger might take an interest in as well. I have no clue what the stuff is worth though.

You'd get higher traffic from qualified eyes over on the Early S Regsitry.
