Emerald City guys...
What do you know about the closing of Paul Weir's shop? Specifically, is there going to be a dispersal sale of the stock, tools and equipment? ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website |

What exactly happened to Weir? Is he just closing shop? Did he actually file a bankruptcy? If someone knows what actually is happening, I can probably give you a good idea of what will happen to the assets of the business (tools, etc.) and how they may be liquidated.

All of the Pcar used and new parts were sold to a wrecking yard south of Seattle some time back. That was stage one: no more parts sales.
Then, they failed on the rebuilding side of things, and have chaptered that as well. So the question is, how cheaply can I get a genuine Porsche engine holder with trolley stand!!! I would imagine that there are very interested parties checking into this for some time now. It's too bad John Walker couldn't inherit everything and make a go of it. Jw |

So, it looks like there may not be too much meat left for the vultures to pick over.
A professional engine stand sure would have been nice, as would a O.E. set of 3.2 P&C's. ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website [This message has been edited by Doug Zielke (edited 06-15-2001).] |

Seems like the guy's who used to work for Paul have gone there seperate ways, and have their own shops, or are working for someone.
Mark, plus two other PW techs, have opened up out in Interbay area called Gerber Motorsport(by Fishermans Terminal) and Walter Gerber is involved with a very nice shop attached to Goodman racing. Looks like a nice shop, and they looked very busy with only being open about 4 weeks now. John Seeger is working with Monty out in Redmond... John Walker continues his own shop in North Seattle (for those who didn't know..). Denny Akers hasn't left his own shop yet (he's retiring and his son is carrying on...somtime in the future). Still plenty of good shops in the Seattle/Bellevue area for us to get work done Others include: Chris Powell in Bellevue, Auto Haus Vick in Bellevue. One of the best value's I have found is that John Seeger does evening and weekend work at his home shop (full lift, etc), and he's really reasonable. regards, Eric |
