Any hounds tooth fabric door cards out there ?

I'm thinking of redoing my door cards, but to "lighten" up the black leather interior, I tought of doing them with hounds tooth fabric.

Before taking the plunge, can anyone post photos of a similar combo ? black leather meets hounds tooth ?

Had a look at your site and liked your door panels. I can see it will work out nice.
The pattern of your fabric is what I believe to be "prince of wales" ? Anyway, is it any regular fabric or did you went for any kind of "automotive" one ?

PJ, a herringbone in a subdued combo might look nice. That much houndstooth might be a lot to take in. Then again, I love the plaid interiors, so why not go for it.

Kevin - impressive ingenuity and end product. Really nicely done.

Whatever happens, post a lot of pics.

I was thinking of "foamed" pvc for the door panels, but coroplast seems lighter.

Kiwiokie's pics and link to his build:

Overdue intro and SC hotrod project

He bought cards and covered them himself:

I bought new door cards from AppBiz. The cards have been cut away around the mass/mid and tweeter as the drivers have been secured to the metal interior panel of each door. I bought some auto upholstery cloth that will cover the door cards. The material is not very thick and I expect it will not have any significant impact on the sound. From my experience with various speakers and grill types perhaps the tweeters will be a little dulled but this should be easily cured with tweaking the treble on the head unit. The thickness of the door cards are just about equal to the edge thickness of the bass/mid driver so the drivers should not be visible behind the cloth. I should be able to tell you more about the sound quality next week as the car is very close to being back on the road.

Just finished installing my new door cards. Using ideas from this thread I made them using Coroplast and covered them with a herringbone pattern fabric.
I really like the result, airier than before but sober....

Yep ! This is a pants / suit kind of fabric. The guy at the store mentioned how soft and warm the fabric was. It had no idea of its intended use !

I'll keep the rear panels stock. It would be too much, I think.
