Yellow wire... where are you??
With my engine about to go back in I would like to address come custom wiring from PO to my starter on my 85. I have read several articles and would like to locate the original yellow wire that would have gone to the starter. It has been bypassed through the tunnel and under the seats to switch with another blue wire. The problem is I would like to find the original yellow wire.. I presume it has been cut somewhere but I cant locate it anywhere. Does anyone have a pic or recall where it exits one of the harnesses? thanks Doug

That wire should be part of the main engine harness (not the DME harness), and is part of the harness to the reverse light switch. I can't remember how that wire comes from the ignition switch; 14-pin connector in the engine bay?

Wire originates at the ignition switch and makes it's way back to the 14 pin connector in the engine compartment. Intermittent starting problems (with a good starter and battery) lead some to bypass the orginal lead in many different ways. My guess is your yellow wire is still intact in the loom and the PO ran that blue wire to the iginition switch.
