Hand Throttle SC
I'd like to replace the AAR with a hand throttle on my 1980 SC. How is this best done ? I was thinking maybe a stepper motor and a small throttle body ?
Advice would be appreciated |

Probably easier to buy a used hand throttle / e brake unit from a pre 77 car and install it... they come up on here once in awhile.

you can also install a 924 water cooling heater valve in place of it (fits perfectly and cost about $17) and run a $8 generic choke cable or whatever into the car to operate it.
it just has to be installed the right orientation so intake manifold vacuum seals the moving disc against the inside of it's housing so it makes a perfect seal. there is a flow direction arrow on the housing to assist in that and it's obvious when looking into it. Part #: 944-572-085-02-M53 Brand: Mecano Bundy $16.50 ![]() |
