Rennaire or Griffiths

I am going to take the slippery slope. Wondering what direction I should take like the title says. I've pretty much decided to the whole upgrade. Let me know your thoughts.

+1 On the Rennaire folks.

Email me and I'll share a few ideas with you.

Good luck,

Gerry

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I installed the Rennaire system a few years back running 134a and it works fine. The directions were a bit vague though. From what I've read on this board Griffith's does a better job with instructions.

Also, I recommend adding a fan to front fender cooler if you haven't already.

Rennaire is what I used... but if you really want cold air that is sufficient, you will need the ZIMS supplemental condenser and the Kuehl Vents and Evap Fan, both from Griffiths.

Ordered the Rennaire Evap can't justify price difference in Griffiths although I've read lot of good things about it, going to do this on piece at a time.

I installed the complete Rennaire system on my 72 rebuild... I live in the Houston area and works great... I had the factor evaporator and dash vents.. but upgraded to a new three speed evaporator blower motor... blows very cold...

Arizona Auto Air (Automotive Air Conditioning Parts & Equipment - WWW.ACKITS.COM) will replace the barrier hose using your original end fittings, for less than half the cost of all-new.

Wamy Man, +1 for Barrpete.

If you're going to need help with the installation then Griffiths is your man. Rennaire's direction's are poor, he's not always available to talk with so I think that's a consideration. Griff knows his stuff and is always willing to talk you through an installation. You'll have to decide on the money difference.

One item that Griffiths sells that I have on my car is his compressor cycle light. It's not much money and tells you when your compressor is on so you can evaluate the temp spread between cycles.

Remember that our host sells both of their equipment and you might check to see if your purchase is qualifies for free shipping.
