Fuch re-anodizing and paint cost: please share your experiences

Hello fellow Pelicans,

As per my recent post, a local tire shop damaged the outer lip on one of the original Fuch wheels on my 80 SC

Then, to make matters worse, they sent the wheel out to have the outer lip painted

Anyway, they have acknowledged responsibility but are not willing to pay for a new wheel. So, I need to provide them with a cost estimate for re-anodizing and painting, but I am having trouble contacting Al Reed.

Could some of you please advise of the approximate cost to have a fuch wheel re-anodized and painted?

Thanks in advance,

Safe and Happy Motoring

Tom

you should have all four anodised, or you'll be left with a color difference.

I take it you already have Al's adress and stuff?

Get in touch with Al Reed Polishing Inc in Anaheim, CA.
Thanks, yes I should have all four anodized. Approximately how much would this cost, per wheel?

Yes, thanks, I have Al's contact details, and will keep trying to reach him.

Looks like the 69E may donate its wheels to the 80SC until all the SC wheels are repaired!

Over here, I believe they ask about 50 € per wheel to anodise.
I asked around once, not with a wheel repair shop, but a company that does surface treatments for industrial purposes.
I never had it done though, I went for the polished look, so I can't tell you if the result would have been nice.
Painting is cheap.

Thanks,

Any pricing info re Fuch re-anodizing from my North American Pelican friends? I have heard $200 per wheel, plus shipping. Does this amount seem about right? I just need an estimated price for my "negotiations" with the tire shop

Update:

Thanks for the advice and info. I spoke with Al, and he indicated that he can fix my wheel to original condition for less than $200 - excellent price and I hear his service is excellent.

The wheel will be shipping to him soon
