Porsche 911 Fuchs wheels, Are they RS wheels or what??

Hey everyone I ran into some fuchs wheels and I am trying to figure out if they are off of a 911 RS or if they are rare cause I dont see much like these.

1. They are dated 07/83 and they are 15X7 in front and 15X8 in the rear. Rear have probably a 3 or 3 1/2 inch lip and front have about a 2 inch lip. I personally have not seen many 15 inch Fuchs and these are original and do have the 911 part numbers on the back so im woundering is there a guide somewhere online where I can look up the part number or does someone here know what they are?

2. I found some online a guy is trying to sell them and he listed them as 911RS wheels they look similar but I think the last part of the part number is diffrent.

3. Also how do I find the offset??

If they are dated 1983, they are not RS wheels. Not, as in not from the iconic Carrera RS, anyway.

If you can post all of the numbers from the wheel backs, we can decipher. ET refers to the offset in mm.

My SC came with this exact size Fuchs from the factory, BTW.

Are these wheels rare in any sence?
Where is the ET located? by the part number or the size?

Sorry, but based on what you've posted, they are not rare and can be found pretty reasonably priced as most owners have gone to larger sizes for a better selection of tires. The size will read 15j7 et XX
The part number should start out with 911.

That was a special wheel used on the early narrow body cars. I have two sets of 15x7/8 I use for track wheels. Very common wheel combination on the SC models. 944's used them as well, but with different offsets. Post your part #s and someone can tell you for sure what you have.

The 7&8x15" Fuchs used on the 944's have the same offsets as those used on 911 models - it's the 8x16" 944 wheels that have different offset to the 911 version.

7 & 8 x15 were optional Fuchs sizes thru '89

the original '73 RS 2.7 came w/ 6 & 7 x15 stock, but 7, 8 & 9 could also be obtained at first through the racing department and later through normal channels except for the 9x15 which was a race only part.

7 had ET 23.3
8 had ET 10.6
9 had ET 15

911.361.020.01 - 7x15" Fuchs wheel used on the '73 RS

911.361.020.02 - 8x15" Fuchs wheel used on the '73 RS

Both of these wheels accept the 3-prong centre caps

see post #12 above

'73 RS came w/ 6ET36 & 7 x15ET23.3

many were subsequently fitted w/ 8ET10.6 in back and had the 7s from the back moved to the front

there was nothing particularly special about the RS wheels, the 6, 7 & 8x15 were all offered on the Carrera 2.7, Carrera 3.0 and later SC models

for racing some used 8ET23.3 in front an 9ET unknown

here are the part #s for the race wheels
8x15 part # 911.361.020.02 Dated 2/71 *

9x15 part # 911.361.020.03 Dated 7/73

Go to the top of this page.

Under the Pelican, to the right of Search, type the part number (xxx xxx xxx xx) in the Enter Description box. It will show you what you have.

That refers to the 1967 911R which is a very rare lightweight racing model that had special offsets to fit the 7" wheels under the non-flared fenders.

I hope that this is not too off topic but what 15" tires currently available would best suit the 7s and 8s for a carrera. Street use. I am not having a lot of luck finding anything that jumps out as a nice set of tires.

I love the Toyo RA-1's in 205/50/15 and 225/50/15 on my Fuchs 7 & 8's. They are a track/street tire, but if you don't shave them they are great on the road (and in the wet too). If you ever want to do a DE at the track, they are perfect for that too.

The sizes I quoted are a bit shorter than stock, so it will have the effect of gearing the car lower for better acceleration (though you'll be going slightly slower than what the speedo says).
