Why do I have one hot exhaust port?

Doing a exchanger update I found one hot port.

Anybody want to take a guess? My list of ideas (not in any order):

Bad injector
Bad injector line
Bad valve seating (need to do a leakdown)
Leak at exhaust flange
REALLY bad intake leak on the runnner.
Bad fuel distributer
Bad karma from pissing off my last girlfriend

Car runs and drives well.. idles well..

I'd guess that you have a bad injector. Dribbling fuel, volume is down = lean cylinder.

Mt thought is poorly buned fuel equals black soot.. not to mention backfires. but a clogged injector could do it.. still good partial spray.

That might be the one good burning cylinder compared to the others.

my first thought also. worn guides, oil use, still runs pretty good. just not using as much oil in that hole.

Are the injectors sealing? Lots of old CIS cars out there bleeding air past the injectors.

That could be it as well.. but I did replace the O rings 2 years ago... But another one for the list..

Gonna have to use a infrared thermometer from here on... she's back together.. but definitely need to fix that cylinder.. Im thinking I'll pull all injectors and bring em to my bosch service center.. get am matched.. and also have them tell me what that injector looked like compared to the rest too.

Oh, while your in there, looks like a good time to change the oil return tubes out. That looks like a source of some oil leaks. BTW, did you break any exhaust studs?

She's back together.. it really wasnt a bad leak..

Not one.. heated em up and spun em off. Ok some luck was involved.

Check the injector on that cylinder. See how it's spraying at opening pressure and high pressure.

What was the problem with that one cylinder? When changing to SSI's I had one that looked like that (different from the other 5). I'm concidering replacing the injector and o-ring on that cylinder.

Pull the plug and look at it. If it is really white, with maybe little flecks. switch out the injector. If it is a little sooty or brown deposits, probably OK. If you pull a few plugs, they should be fairly consistent.
