DME Control Modual (ECM) and Magnets
I need to relocate my ECM from under my seat to behind driver seat on the vertical sheet metal surface. I will mount the box, dme and alarm deal (as a assembly) on a sheet of .25" ABS.
Instead of using fasteners to mount the ABS plate to the vertical sheet metal, I thought I might adhere magnet(s) to the ABS plate and let them do the holding. (assembly weighs 3.2 lbs) Maybe add some velcro or something to help if it looks like it may slide around? Will magnets mess with the electronics of my ECM/DME? Thanks. Hi

Magnets can interfer with electronics. The military has a set of standards when dealing with electronic components and magnetic fields. RE: MIL-STD-461E
