full throttle microswitch kaput ?

I suspect that my full throttle microswitch has had it. When testing using a voltimeter I cannot get any reading at full throttle. I have trying loosening the connecting tab of the switch and then moving it to the max position both up and down but have no signal in either position.

The throttle cable opens to fully engaged.

Anyone had this problem ?

Yes, I had this problem. When tested per the Bentley manual, my full throttle switch wasn't working correctly. I replaced it with a new one from our host and confirmed that it then worked. Then I went right out (to Road Atlanta) and melted some spark plugs, so I now have the switch disconnected again while I figure out what is going on...

There is a chance you can repair it. I took mine about and found a broken solder joint which was an easy fix. Adjust the mount so it comes on between 2/3 and 3/4 full throttle. Ken

Thats the problem. I have adjusted all the way through the range and it does not come on at all.

I looked on pelican and cannot find it. Do they still stock them ?

This looks like it. Not cheap for such a simple thing. Ken

I took mine apart (cut a window) and horsed around with it and got it working again, checked later and it went bad again, so put in a new one. It is such a great design, huge complicated and not reliable (only good for about 15-20 years). . and $100 to replace.

I've wondered that. I need to get the car on a dyno (with the switch connected) to see what the AFRs are. The last dyno runs I did were with the non-functioning switch and the thing went really rich at high rpms...
