I am installing a set of 924 front seatbelts in my 72 911 and need to create mounting points for the receptacle and lap belt end. Before I start the process of welding on new mounts I would be interested in seeing pictures of where the stock mounting locations on the center tunnel and sides of the car would be in later cars. I have some amount of flexibility in the mounting and might as well make it look fairly original if I can.
BTW, the 924 seat/seatbelt combo is very promising and very affordable at the local junkyard. I pulled a set of seatbelts in perfect condition and a 9/10 condition passenger seat out of a wrecked 924 the other day. I bought my 911 with 924 seats and adapter plates already installed by the PO, but he never bothered to properly install seatbelts and the passenger seat was pretty torn up. The 924 seatbelt retractor fits the stock mounting point perfectly once a pin is unscrewed, and the shoulder belt hanger fits as well. In cars without the screwy "lap belt built into seat" arrangement like the 72, the seatbelt replacement would be trivial. In my case I need to add two mounting points to the car to make it all work. At $11 a side I think these seatbelts beat the PEP price. ![]()
