Too many clean 911s here...

This is 1 day after being spotlessly cleaned. But what the Hell, made to be driven, right?

Ah, black cars. Here's a shot of my old triple black (exterior/interior/headliner) '87 Carrera TurboLook after spending the better part of the day washing/waxing/detailing. A daily driver that I commuted to work in and parked outside at a regional airport, by Noon Monday, it was covered in a fine layer of dust and it was down hit from there.

But what a beauty.

Know the feeling.
I live on a dirt road. My whale tail does a great job of sucking the dust up onto the read end.
After every trip i have to take a dust mop to it. I expect i'll have to repaint it in short order.

Beautiful cars everyone. I too have a black on black Carrera and I feel your pain of constant cleaning but in my opinion black is the best color for these cars. Besides as posted above, they are meant to be driven.

I tyr and get out and drive it as much as possible - it is hard to roll out of the garage when it is pouring rain again (or still) though. I am working on the small leaks and hate to let it sit outside too long. Here is my black and tan friend on a good day in the Pacific NW:

I feel so dirty

Here's my 71E .....not dirty yet, but getting there. Black may be my favorite 911 color....a close tie silver.

Ha! Great replies! I drove this here to Breckenridge CO, from St. Louis a week ago. It was pouring when we got here, and the house we're renting is about 4 miles out of town on a dirt road. Covered in mud the first day, had 3" of snow the next morning, roads just a mess. But then the sun came out and now everything is dusty and dry. Whatever, brought it here to enjoy it in the Rockies and we've put several hundred miles on, with another week to go. I've got squeaky brakes and a squeaky fan belt from all the dust, but that will clear up when we get home.

I also have a black Carrera.... and my place has a long dirt driveway, I spend five hours tidying it up for a show and in one trip down the driveway (to go to the show) and she looks like a Dakar rally car. Oh well, she's no concours winner anyhow, major fun though!

That's a major advantage of platinum metallic. Really doesn't show dirt at all. After I've washed it, the only difference is that the car is shinier.
On this picture the car has been standing in a garage all winter, followed by a blast on dusty spring roads.

I live on a dirt road, and my work is on a dirt road. Luckily, my car is white.
