I was about to order the cheap tool from Amazon but in that case if it just "kinda" works I would rather find a tool with the right size.

Has anybody found out in the meantime if there is another aftermarket socket that fits perfectly?

I bought one from Pelican user JimmyT, he shipped it immediately and it worked flawlessly, super easy, really well made....and happy to support a contributor to the community

The tool is not made of hardened steel. One slip and the points can be rounded. I use a floor jack to press it against the nut and have had success every time.

I agree, you must keep lots of pressure on the socket to prevent it from camming off

Is JimmyT a member here? How can I contact him to buy his socket!

Thanks for the tip David!

I am already in touch with Jimmy, he is definitely the man for this tool!

I'll PM you his email address so he doesn't get spammed if I post it publicly.

Lukas, thank-you! I'm about to start re-assembling the front suspension and that socket would be a BIG help!
