Broke steel/rubber line to WUR

I broke a steel/rubber line that connects the fuel distributor to the WUR. Don't worry, I wasn't driving, just doing the contortions required to put a CIS back in a vehicle with the engine still inside.

It broke at the fitting by the WUR. Is there any reason this line can't be replaced by an all steel line? The one going from the #1 cylinder looks like a good candidate. Before, when I had a plastic line, I broke it at the same spot, test fitting a supercharger.

Thanks

It can be repaired but picture of the damaged area would be helpful.

Dr J,

You could replace the damaged fuel line with either all-steel or the factory plastic lines from the early SC's. BTW, I found 2 sets of metal lines hanging in my tool shed (see pic below).

If you're unable to locate a replacement fuel line, PM me and will direct you to a Pelicanparts member who could provide for your need.

Thanks all for the suggestions. James/Harry, I know it can definitely be repaired. I had a plastic one that broke at the same spot (by the WUR fitting). It was my first time trying to repair it so it took about three tries. By then the line was too short and I got another one. Now that I changed to steel, this line is made part steel and part plastic. Since the return line to the tank is steel, I don't see why the half/half construction on the line from the FD to the WUR. I would just as soon replace with an all steel line such as the one from the FD to the #1 cylinder (a long line). Anyone see a problem with that?

If not, I may be procuring an all steel line and use it for the FD/WUR. Thanks Tony for the info on your lines. I have yet to make up my mind whether to put the same one or an all steel one.
