typically they come with the battery terminals and since yours apparently did not i don't think there would be any made. if you tell me what size gauge wire and how many i can try to find some for you.

Just ordered an HC800, I'll report back on my install.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/03/emu6y2up.jpg Just got my battery and box so hopefully I'll have them installed this weekend. It's super light compared to the tank of a battery in there now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
nice. closing in on 4 years and the same battery is still running great.
|
Almost had mine installed but now the groin wire is too short. So much for wrapping this up tonight ....

Battery replace
Just took delivery of an '87 911. PO's mechanic replaced the battery some time earlier. Unfortunately he replaced itwith a large and long battery which he rammed into place, breaking the near by AC fan housing, then reattached this fan with duct tape!!
A smaller battery is a good idea! |
Mine is still running strong on the Kinetic AGM

SoCal, that is a clean looking hold down. What brand is it and where did you get it?
|
The blue tie down was a generic tie down I purchased on Amazon.

Thanks! I have not used Amazon for car parts. I will give it a look

after 3 years of use in a car audio setup and 4 years in the 911 the battery finally gave up. can't complain after 7 years! i installed a new one a couple months ago and all is right in the world again.
|
This is a nice upgrade, but I did not have the time to do it.
I went with the original huge lunker battery again, partly because my last one lasted - wait for it - 14 years!!! So I bought the same brand of battery, Autocraft from Advanced Auto parts. Craig |
For anyone finding this thread, I just fitted two Kinetik HC600REV batteries ($94 for two on ebay) to my 1970 911E Targa. It was an easy fit and saved lots of weight. It starts ok with one connected but two gives 1200 amps! I made simple lower bracket "loops" to use with the existing brackets. I put some mirror tape under the batteries for insurance (and high G corners :-)

It's been almost 4 years and all is well!!! I've also installed in the SC. Thanks nineball.

Derekw - This looks like a great alternative for the early long hood 911's!
Did you use a standard positive battery cable connector for this install? |
No log in since May of 2017. Miss me some nineball.
