Porsche Crest Where To Get Front Bumper Fog Light Hole Cover Up Things?

Ok I don't know what the proper name for them is. I need the panels that go in place of the fog light cutout on my 1969. You know the ones that are usually painted the same color as the car and goes in place of fog lights?

Anyone know where I can find some? Also are there any seals that go with them? Do the plates bolt on or weld on?

Thanks,
Dustin

Porsche salvage yard or swap meet. If there are no swap meets near you, try Carquip www.carquip.com or PartsHeaven.

Be sure you get them with the metal bar thingies that clamps them on.

Or...you could always just put some foglights there.

Since they're down on the valance, they might be well called "front valance fog light inserts", but just a guess. Bumper bellows are the "accordian" rubber filler between the bumper and fender on '70's and '80's cars.

Or? Leave 'em off, as an opening to duct cold air to the front brakes?

Stoddard has them listed in their catalog:

902.505.055.21.GRV Fog Lamp Cover, left
902.505.056.21.GRV Fog Lamp Cover, right
SIC.505.153.20 Gasket material, cut to fit
902.505.145.21 Retaining Strap, 2 req'd.
900.151.006.02 Flat Washer, 6mm, 4 req'd.
999.084.103.02 Hex Nut, 6mm, 4 req'd.

69-73 are all the same. They don't list prices.

BTW, need an owner's manual? There's one on eBay right now!

Most people want to fill them in, I actually had to hand-cut the holes, for cooling:

Jack? Of course I clicked on for the larger version. Those were hand cut? Did you do it for brakes? Oil cooler? And that negative camber on the front? Gee, what's that for?

Cut-out holes, horn grills, removed battery boxes, and headlight socket holes are all for the fender-mounted oil coolers. It's all part of the almighty crusade for lower oil temps on the track.

There are brake ducts, too, but they're strapped to the front suspension.

You can see by the rounded outside edges of those (street) tires that the negative camber needs to be increased. At Laguna, Tyson cranked it in another half degree or so.

You should be able to find some correct vintage Hella 169's for probably not much more than you'd pay somebody like Stoddard for the covers. I have bought/sold reasonably usable pairs for $50-100 in the past. (CW lamps like the ones in the pic are substantially more of course, but they are mounted so close to the ground very few people would ever notice anyway.)

Just my $.02

Thanks

I like the idea of just leaving them open but I have to figure out if I should cut the light bracket out or just put some of the mesh screen wire over the hole.
