Dumb question - turbo tie rod ends
I just ordered a set of replacement ends for my turbo tie rods from our host, and have what's probably a dumb question...the new rod ends came with white plastic caps over the rubber boots. I assume these are some sort of protection before installation and should be removed before installation, but wanted to double check with others that may have seen these. They look almost tough enough to act as some sort of spacer or protection, so I just wanted to make sure...

Just protects the threads and the taper of the ball stud during shipping. Remove before install.
