1991 Carrera 2 that will not start. The car was parked after it wouldn't start one day, and now, a few years later, I'm trying to figure it out.
The battery is strong and the engine cranks and cranks but will not fire, or even coug for that matter. My question is should the tach move at all when I'm cranking it over, because it's not. Would this possibly indicate something wrong with a speed sensor? Also, I just replaced the DME relay, but no change. UPDATE: I've got fuel but no spark when I unplugged the spark plug and hooked up a spark plug. Any ideas?? Last edited by MalibuLX3; 07-12-2010 at 02:52 PM.. |

It could be the dreaded reference and/or speed sensor. I wrote up a little proceedure on diagnosing and repairing here no-spark problem finally resolved
