Why do you want parallel flow? Are you going to split in the winter?

Someone has to make them as I think they come in some kits from AC guys offering them for 911s. But one such company will not sell just the rear condenser :(

Get a Behr replacement rear condenser so there will not be any fit issues. Replace all of the hoses and the drier and charge it up with R-12 or 134 but make sure your front condenser fans is working. Keep it as designed, it will never be like a new car but will take the edge off on a hot day. I jsut completely refurbished my system on a 79SC with a San 507 Compressor, new Hanza drier, new Porsche supplied expansion valve and all new barrier hoses. The system is charged with R-12 and gets out the cold air to the point that on an 85 degree day, I only turn the thermostat half way.

Check with our host. I believe they carry a serpentine condenser; better heat transfer.

what is more effective: a wheel well condenser, or increasing the size & efficiency of the one in the rear deck?

by the way, for anyone considering adding a fan to the rear condenser, its a great, easy & cheap upgrade. 7.5" spal fan moves a lot of air. Oddly enough, having the fan push (blow outward) seemed more effective than the puller configuration. I left it pulling air so that the engine wasn't robbed of intake.

Yeah, but only if you use the Porsche independent in Florida that you work for.

I think that is what this guy has been offering for awhile. I know his higher powered fan idea was "borrowed" by some of the other Porsche AC guys. I guess Retro can just chalk up this idea as being "borrowed" as well.

Reviving a year-and-a-half old thread? In the winter?

LOL.
