SC front end into '69 911t?
I just purchased a 1969 911t.
I was wondering if the front end from an SC will bolt in? I want to use the turbo tie rods, suspension, brakes, etc... Also, will the torsion bars for an SC also fit on my '69? thanks in advance for any input!! |
The whole thing will drop right in.
You can also mix and match parts, but you have to choose the right combination. |
thanks

Just buy an SC, don't modify a 911T its worth more in its original state any day.

Sorry I should have been more clear. Yes I only plan to use the SC brakes, torsion bar, sway bar and front shocks. Actually I have the entire front clip from a wrecked SC and was hoping to just unbolt my front and bolt the SC stuff in.. Also upgrading master cylinder and going power assisted brakes. I understand the torsion bars are the same. |
You may want to research this before you start buying parts. There are differences.
The brake calipers and rotors are bigger. Which may have some effect on braking, especially if you are using the 69 master cylinder. The biggest problem will be the sway bar mounts are different. The strut to ball joint attachment is different, but if you're are using SC struts and a-arms it won't matter. SC's came with different struts and shocks,(Boge, Koni or Bilstein) which may make a difference to you. |
This issue was solved at post #2 by Chuck. The front suspension bolts right on. He already has the whole SC front end.

A friend and I looked at that car and figured it was not a bad deal. It needed more work than we prepared to put into it though. If it is the same car, good luck with it. There's no doubt it has huge potential. |
