Replacement evap RennAire or Kuehl
Units look similar to me....high efficiency serpentine. Why is the RennAire $249 and the Kuehl $522? Both units sold thru our host otherwise I wouldn't ask here.
Looks a little like a "no-brainer" to me. Differences? Recommendations? Thanks!

PUT ME DOWN AS I NEED TO KNOW!! I HAVE TRIED TO CALL KUEHL TO ASK IF THEIR CENTER VENT WAS A LITTLE OVERPRICED FOR WHAT IT WAS, AND THEY ACTED LIKE I SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR MOMMY.

kepperly last year at a local Porsche swap meet I purchased the Kuehl center vent in it's original box with instructions and mounting hardware for $20.00.......................that's the right price!! Sorry to sidetrack the original post.

Mark, I have the Kuehl that I bought before Ron started selling his or I knew about it. No complaints. But I've bought the Procooler and other items from Ron with no complaints there either. Today I'd go with the Rennaire. Ken

I had the same problem you had, but after much head-scratching and reviewing whatever pix I could find I bought the Griffiths unit. Haven't had my hands on the RennAire unit (bought their ProCooler), but I can say the Griffiths evaporator is superbly made. The reason I went for Griffiths is because it appeared to have more capacity than any other. The full height of the available space is used for the serpentine portion of the evaporator - other units appear to have tubing in space that could otherwise be used as heat exchanger. Look at the RennAire web site photo and there is a tube across the top of the evaporator from the expansion valve - that is not on the Griffiths unit. Maybe someone at Pelican can measure and report differences??
I would guess the Griffiths unit has about 15-20% more evaporator capacity than the others, but I can't document that. Whether it's worth the additional $$$ is another question, but I only wanted to open the evap box once. Btw: the Griffiths continuously-variable fan control is very nice! Hope this makes sense - I'm jamming it out while working and waiting for a download to finish.
