Todd,
Yeah, I know one never gets back what they put into mods. This is on my bucket list and I'm no spring chicken. My wife will get a good price when I'm gone and that'll be that. |
i still might sell mine and get a turbo..i have had a few of those and cant decide which is more fun
|
Depends on your driving; I had a 964 Turbo and wasn't a fan. When you are canyon carving the turbo is never there when you need it and by the time it spins on you dont.
i have to admit you get it on some open road and its a rocket. |
How about a 3.8!!!! Just ran my car (71 911/2246 lbs) on the dyno today, 344.9 RWHP (Dyno Sheet Attached)...... Too bad it is not my motor, just being tested, but what a ride.......
My shop needed a quick test of the motor and I donated my car while my 2.5SS is out getting "freshened/updated to a 2.7SS with DC-62 cams/GT3 Pump, I am hoping and will be very happy for a min of 255 RWHP with the 2.7SS. I love the smaller motors but the torque of a 3.6 or especially a modded 3.6 is a great reason for a conversion that no small displacement motor can touch. My 3.6 N/A pulls like a stump puller......

Basically, are you happy with it and glad you did it.
It cost a ton of money, but it is basically like having your own supercar limited really only by aero. Did you keep your original tranny? No. I went with the 8:31 alum trans. Tyson made it a lot stronger. You don't want to cut corners here. What else did you have to upgrade to keep it safe? My car was lighter already and had 84-89 brakes. But I plan to go to 930 brakes. How/where to find a good motor? I got my engine from LA Porsche Parts Dismantler. Then rebuilt it. I'm again considering it on my 78 SC... |
