Red face Oops! oil change over-fill help?

Did my my pre-summer oil change today and got about a half qt. to much into her. Any quick and /or easy way to get out about a quart of oil?

knowing how 911s are, you will probably loose about 1 quart to the garage floor when you are asleep tonite.

When this happened to me, I bought some clear tubing from a hardware store, and siphoned some from the fill tube. Stored it untill the car had bur... er "consumed" enough to add it back.

this probabably sounds crazy.........but, i use my wife's turkey baster. it has a rubber top and a long plastic tube. it fits right into the oil tank and it pulls out about 1/8 quart per squeeze.

of course, she almost killed me the first time she caught me doing it the first time.

come to think of it, the Thanksgiving turkey seems to taste a bit better ever since i started using this technique.

how far is the tank from the filler on the 911!!?!? on the 944 it is a long narrow tube that goes down into the block. you could only reach down there with a hose. if you wanted to use a turkey baster you would have to get one so long and slim that it would work good for giving the turkey enimas.

The turkey idea is good but this problem and other oil related filling and emptying situations, your local auto parts sells whats called a suction gun.Looks like a grease gun,but has a clear hose at the end and you just stick it what you what sucked up and draw the handle back und Valaaa, out she comes. It's only about $10 and your wife won't want to use it for the turkey! Everybodys happy.
