engine idle frustrations

Hi-

Had my 1987 911 engine rebuilt recently (pistons, cylinders, top end, spark plug wires, pretty much everything) and runs well (put on about 2000 miles post rebuilt)with the exception of a every so slight miss at low rpm. I was at a stop light and the engine idle was at 750rpm...dropped slightly then idle went up to about 1.5k and then engine died. Did this a couple times before, went home and figured I would tighten (slightly loose) up the throttle cable a bit which seems to help, but the engine still misses slightly either at idle or even when accelerating...you can just feel it which bugs me.

The fuel pump and filter has been changed, fuel injectors cleaned and flow tested, air flow meter checked, DME checked out OK as well. after about 1500 miles post rebuild, had a leak down test, valve adjusted, cam inspected and cylinder heads re-torque as a post rebuilt check at 1500 miles.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
