My drivers seat back will recline when I hit the recline arrow button but it will not come back up when I hit the other button. This was not an issue as I had my seat set and just left it alone. My mother inlaw today reclined it as she wanted to get in and check it out. AHHH!!!! any thoughts.
I am new to the forum and also have owned my 86 911 coupe for about 4 months. I love it. I like to drive with the seat back pretty upright. thoughts? where to start? this may be super simple but I thought I would try the forum. Thanks |

Probably just corroded contacts on the connection to go in that direction. My seat at teh front behind the knees will raise (it's up where I want it) but will not lower. Doesn't matter as it's where I want it. I'll get around to it whenever....
![]() Pull the little plate on the switch (couple of screws) and clean the contacts (search seat switch repair, maybe?) and you should be able to fix it. Disconnect the negative on the battery maybe first?? Or pull the seat fuse, as the wiring should be hot.

Go to an electronic shop and buy a spray can. Remove the screws which append the switch to the seat. You will see small holes in the switch assy. Spray the cleaner while rocking the switch back and forth. Do not use WD40! Good luck, Gerry
