Searched but have a simple question re: backdated heat without footwell blowers

I've backdated heat on my '87 and eleminated the rear blower. Can I remove the footwell blowers and get a slight amount of cabin heat by just lifting the center levers to open flappers? I realize without the blowers/ducting I won' get defrost at the dash. Just looking for a little heat to knock chill out of cabin on those rare chilly winter mornings in the deep south.

I think I may try something else this winter. I want to try out one of these motors to replace the footwell blowers but they are expensive for an experiment. AXIAL FAN AXFAN | ||

Unless you've "rigged" the front blowers w/ a resisitor, etc. they're not functioning without the rear blower anyways and are reducing the flow of air "as is", so removing them will actually help. All of mine have been long gone and I still have plenty of heat. In fact, this thread reminded me that I've had my passenger side blocked with a tennis ball can cap for a few years now and need to address the passenger flapper box that I assume is stuck "open"...so I've actually been OK with just "free air flow" on the drivers side only.

You can easily find blowers/fans in rallye accessories shop . (in France Oreca or GT2I) Used for refreshing the car inside . That costs 39 euros.

Thanks, guys for your input. Just the info I was looking for as all the threads I searched dealt more with adding Carrera style footwell blowers to pre-84 cars. About the only time I need heat is in February after getting waterlogged from being outside in the rain. I know I can do the jumper on the relay in the engine bay to get power to the fans since I've eleminated engione blower. Just trying to simplify my car. n I'm keeping all the parts of the systems (heat and a/c) so I can restore to original when it becomes a priceless collectible
