Muffler bracket question

Hey, I'm installing my new Dansk 2 in 1 out sport muffler.

I have a question about the bracket for the clamps, is the "welding joint" on my muffler supposed to "rest" on the top of the "L" shelf sticking out in the bottom of the bracket? Or is the welding joint supposed to lay under the bracket "tip"?

I think I understand what you mean.

The "lip" should rest on the bracket.

It may be different for different cars. Don't force what doesn't what to happen. The clamps do the work. Ideally, the muffler sits on top.
