Legends Motorsports @ Sebring

I just downloaded about 200 pictures from the Legends Motorsports vintage event at Sebring. They're on my Facebook page. There are a bunch of Porsche pictures and a few other cars as well. Enjoy.

Wow. Nice turnout and nice pics. Somebody is running an RS Spyder? Weird to think of it now as a "vintage" car.

Saw a crashed/destroyed Ferrari GTO today... Sad

Nice shots. Bobby is my all time favorite driver.
Here's two generations of Rahal "Past and Present"

Bobby at the PCA tent at Barber this spring talking about the legends series:

I'll spare you the cheesy Bryon-style pics of me with Bobby and Graham.

Ouch. Looks like there are some other cars there from a certain large collection near Mosport, so it might actually be a real GTO (s/n 3451).

Great deal !!!! For what its worth, I finished 1st in class at the enduro and was 1st 2 liter 911 at the Thunder & Lightning feature race.

If you ever want to stop by and look up close or have any questions, please don't hesitate. My regards to Toni.

I enjoyed your last column (Homestead). You are right re: finding parts for a Porsche and not for an Elva. I needed a rear trailing arm at Homestead and found one. At Sebring I have loaned carbs, gears, ....

We typically have at least 5 competitors/mechanics coming over looking for parts at our camp (901 Shop) every weekend.

Just in case you're not sure what we're talking about here you can get a free copy of Vintage Motorsport magazine. My column is in every issue and is called Newton's Law.

Looking closely, I think that car on the trailer is a Bizzarini 3500GT, not a Ferrari.

It was fun to watch as well. Didn't realize the old Jag's were so competitive.
By the way, who ended up winning the Audi/ Spyder final race?

Bob, those Jags have huge engines, tires and brakes to go with the package.

I had a long battle during the enduro with one of the silver hard top ones. His best was almost 1 sec quicker than me. Now if you compare against Preston Farell (who drives the nuts out of his car - the light blue cabrio) the split is much larger.

MyLaps has not updated to include Sunday's results, I'll post back when they do. I would imagine that the Audi won as that car is beautifully driven.

I wish the pictures showed the slip angle you were getting in Turn 1 Juan.

I was trying to listen to your throttle to determine if it was throttle lift oversteer or throttle on...

Either way it was freakin awesome racing between you guys. Look at the first pic closely to see the guy INSIDE you!!!

The last pic is my car at Sebring............

Joe,

Awesome looking car you got there!!!!! I gather its a 3.2?

T1 is flatout from the apex on Some of the laps it got a bit more interesting than others with the close competition. Pucker factor when you are forced to get 4 tires on the dirt at the exit of T1....

I have raced a lot and have a lot of respect and trust for the blue car on the inside (heck of a driver) so we are used to racing in tight spaces.

I will post some video from this weekend but you can find some old laps at Sebring I have posted on You Tube. Look for Alter Ego Racing

This particular lap is running Hoosier R6's so the slip angles differ from what you saw this weekend with RA1's. We threw in a set of Hoosiers to try them and this lap is with the suspension setup for RA1's. I think that there is another .5 secs with the suspension tuned for these. Vintage organizations do not allow them/PCA does.

Yep it's a 3.2. Has chip and headers so maybe 235-240 hp and it weighs 2375 wet so it is is fun car. I have all the "right" suspension goodies to spec 911 race it should it catch on down here.

I was watching the blue car and you drifting thru Turn 1 side by side both with opposite lock.....pretty cool watching from where I took pics. I will look for U Tube vids.

See you at 48 Hours........
