What the hell happened to Invinca Shield?
I can't be the only one here who bought a clear bra kit or two from them and has a problem with it years later. The one on my 993 still looks great after five years. However, the one on my wife's white Mini turned maroon and stained her paint. The body shop I took it to for an estimate says 3M should cover the repair.
I just spent 30 min. on the phone with 3M's auto product warranty guy and got every excuse under the sun as to why they wouldn't cover this repair. First he said he'd never heard of Invinca Shield. Once I pointed him to several car chat board discussions on it, all of which mention they sell 3M clear bras, he then said I voided the warranty by DIY'ing the job. Nevermind I'd installed the clear bra on my 993 and the Mini and both looked great, even after years in the AZ sun. But only my wife's has gone bad and it's under the five year warranty. He didn't question my install skills, but then said I failed to research the conditions of the warranty. Since Invinca Shield always included a DVD or VHS on how to install their kits, I doubt they meant to fool people into voiding their 3M warranty. Anyway, does anyone know who took over Invinca Shield and how to get a hold of them? Not much info on them in Google since about 2007. Fuming mad over this BS.
