Need an expert.....
I have a 1985 911 Euro, can any one tell me what kind of head lights I have? Are they H4 or H5? The tabs inside the headlight bucket are totally stripped out and the previous owner cut off the long screws from the lens rims, so basically the headlights point to the sky and there is no way to adjust them. I bought some h5 headlight assemblies with lens rims and I was going to switch over. With the H5 brackets how do they affix to the headlight bucket. Do they have to go to the existing tabs in the buckets?

No clue as I don't see any pics but MOST Euro spec cars came with H4s(H5s began in 1987, I think.)

So if I switch over to H5, how does the braket mount into the headlight bucket?

Seems some folks think the H4 is better. Will H5's work?????
If you post a pic we can tell you what you have. Without seeing what you are, it's difficult to help you out.

I took H5's out to fit H4's. Much better beam pattern on H4's.
