Throttle Rod To Close, Rubbing - What to Do???

I replaced the old pedal panle with an ABS but notice when I pressed in the throttle rod in actually rubbed against another part. Seems to me it shouldn't do that and it could actually allow for the go-pedal to stick at some point. I don't want to be pulling or pushing stuff around down there. What to do???

Here is is with good clearance before being pressed:

Here is is as it touches...

Does the board go under the carpet?

Would that change the relationship enough to prevent hitting?

Can you slide the pedal board left or right (which ever is necessary) to allow for free play? I've had this issue with a Rennline aluminum pedal board and adjusting side to side fixed the problem.

Could this be why the go-peddle sticks sometimes?
