How fast have you gone in your 911 (excluding track)? Me - 110 then chickened out -afraid of ticket!

If you want to go fast, go to the track. Safer and no tickets.

I have yet to find my rev limiter at my local track in 5th gear.

I asked specifically what you did "off the track" Anybody can take their car to the limit where there's no risk! Big Whoop!

Oh boy. This might get ugly.

Off track speed runs for me are on the turnpike with no cars that can be passed. I am not used to the speed so I minimize the variables. Usually 110 is about it for a short burst.

Off track on the last few miles of the 1 into Monterey in my 996 cab roof down. 148 indicated, following some #{^}*%%*^ in a 996TT.

136 on a stretch of I-35 between Austin and Ft. Worth, and only because a 928 had sided-up to me and then tried to act like he was going to leave me in the dust. Surprisingly the only thing shaking in the car at that speed was my hands, from the adrenaline.

I hit 120 before I chickened out. Still felt like it could go.

The young cub named "Big Whoop", naive in the ways of the world, wanders into the lion's den, taunting the cumulative knowledge of the elders. The elders responding to the young cub's taunts prepare their unrelenting and highly reasoned response. Stay tuned...

Indicated 130, on my way home from buying the car. Idiot. Nothing bad happened, but I won't do it again.

So my friend, how many times have you visited the limit? I have been there and beyond. The limit is a sneaky thing, often you do not know you have passed it until after it is behind you. When was the last time you did this with your car?

Would you be able to catch this and keep on going?

I do it regularly.

Nice 10 mile straight stretch of I88 East in NY with visibility that there was nothing there but me... 145 indicated in my sc and I had rev room... got a bit too floaty for me. Returning from 48 hours of the glen in '97 or '98...

I'll have to do a re-test now that the car is lower and has more front aero... Perhaps on track at Daytona

Remember that an indicated 145 in a SC with stock rear tires is about . . . . 133. The top rev-limited speed in the owner's manual is 136.

Oh, and the closing time at 133 as opposed to 65 is . . . . .
