CDI vs Pertronix

Just fried the CDI box. on my 1970 engine.
Ok that might be possible to overhaul but it will take some time.....

I found a Pertronix in the garage Ignitor 2862 for 1969-71 P/N PEL PT2862.
Is this only for triggering a CDI box or will it work together with an ignition coil for breaker and condenser type system?

What other CDI boxes can be recomended (exept for MSD).

I think you mean CDI box and not points module??

I went through this years ago and I ended up with a Bosch CDI unit and one as a spare. No more Pertronix units for me!

I have not tried one, but the Daytona Sensors CD1 looks interesting. I have one on order and should be testing in a bit. Kit comes with coil. You can run it as is, or even program your advance curve into it and lock down the distributor.

Also does data logging of ignition as well.

I like their Daytona Sensors WEGO IV AFR instrument which is sold by our host. Maybe they will add this CD box in the future.

Get the CDI repaired. Try Ingo at 3.6@cox.net

Pertronix replaces the points.....unless you are thinking of a Permacrap?
