3.2 fan with 964 housing

Is it possible to use 964 fan housing 964 106 667 02 with -87 engine? I would like to use 84-89 fan/impeller and alternator on new housing as it's difficult to find good 3.2 housing. 964 fan is not as efficient as older with straight cut blades so trying to keep old fan. But not sure if 964 housing is deeper than 3.2. Do you know?

It won't work.

The 964 housing doesn't fit you engine, and the fans are not interchangeable.

There is a straight blade fan for the late set-ups . The 964 Turbo had a straight blade fan and uses the 964 style housing and alternator.
