7R case question

I just received my copy of Wayne's how to rebuild and modify book he states the 73.5 CIS motor is the earliest 7R case with spigot spacing for 2-2.4 cylinders. I have a 73 2.4 E MFI engine with 7R case book lists engine # as out of 73 with Sporto one of those transition things?

Shoepop, Do you have a Red Book to check your engine & trans #'s? Have you owned the car since new?

Later 73Es and Ss could have a 7R case.

Yes Steve I checked the #'s both type and serial. I don't own the car just picked up the engine no trany because it was cheap clean and complete.

Is the engine complete? Lots of good stuff, the MFI system alone is pretty valuable.

Yes it's 100% complete with the exception of missing flapper box, even got the electrical console with it.

Shoepop, check both sides of your engine case for the casting numbers. I have a 73 T with MFI and the case type number is 911/51 but the case half's show 102.7R on the right and 101.5R on the left. This engine has never been rebuilt.
