New member from Denmark

Hello,

Just purchased my first Porsche. It's a 911 from 1974, that have been converted to 1975 Carrera look.

Right after the purchace in the Bay Area, CA, it got transported to PM Porsche in Riverside. They will dissasamble the car, paint it and put it together. After that it will go to another place to get a complete new interior in black leather.

When all this is done, it's time for it to be shipped to Denmark for me to enjoy

Any experience with PM Porsche in Riverside ??

Nice car and 1974 is a great year! Don't have any experience with the shipper but if the car has spent most of its life in California then hopefully it will have a minimum of rust. Enjoy your new toy.

No experience here. Nice car...welcome to Pelican.

From reeading another Pelican's thread on travelling in Europe in an early 911, he says that these older models really garner a lot of attention and are pretty uncommon on the road. Do you find this to be true?

Older Porsches are not very common here. The weather around here, is not very good for cars. Typical they are outrotted in 10-15years. Think that happend to alot of the Porsches too......

Heine,
Welcome to the Forum
You will find a lot of help here.

Congratulations on your purchase.
While it is sad to see another go off-shore, it seems
it will be well cared for. And enjoyed.

Do you have your sights on a ‘long hood’ or 356T6?
I’ll bet you don’t see many on the E45.

Best,
Grady

Very nice car. I know you'll love it on the small roads in "the old country".

Since you say you are converting the interior to black, and I'm looking for cork interior carpeting, door panels, etc to replace the ratty cork interior on my '75. Perhaps we can do a deal? I don't have anything to trade and our money is worth only slightly more than Mexican pesos, but I've sent you a PM just the same!

I think you'll really enjoy that car!

Regards,

Tom

Thanks. 356 T6's.... No, they are 1 in a million here too. I know about a guy who just found a 1953 in a barn here in Denmark. It require a total resto, but it's complete ! A very rare find...

I hope that is one "green" porsche if it is going to Danmark. I heard the tax is like 5000% to get it into the country. I am sure your neighbors will love you when they see that old polluting car in the driveway

The tax here in Denmark is skyhigh. Not 5000% but around 180% higher on cars than in the US. The tax for importing the Porsche into Denmark will be in the $8-10.000 ballgame !!! And with the price for purchasing the car, restoring and shipping it will be quite an expensive car. But that's just how it is, living in Denmark.....
About the polluting cars in my driveway. They are use to it. I have a 1970 Impala, 1974 Ford CopCar (S.F.P.D), 1971 Plymouth Fury Copcar, 1958 Edsel Pacer and a 1971 Buick GS conv. in my garage allready

Yes it's Precision Motors I mean. Think they are doing a great job. I really looking forward to see the result, when it's done.

Davs!

Nice to see that there will be another old Porsche in the area.

We should meet up and go for a drive! I live south of Malmö, but work in CPH.

ps. Used to have an old Highway Patrol car myself when I lived in San Diego (-84 or -86 Diplomat). It was a heavy beast but fun to drive. Seemed like it had recd some good tuning while in service.

Well, the paint is a little dull, when seen in person. But it's rustfree and straight. And that's the most important. Can't wait to see it with the new shiny paint and new black interior.

That looks like a Carrera 3.0 badge on the back. Was the tail switched? For a second there, I thought I was going to see my Black '77 Carrera 3.0. I traded it for a 964 C4 Cab and the guy was going to ship it off to Denmark where he had a buyer. If anyone knows where my car lands, I'd be happy to give them a little background - I miss her!

Hey good luck on the 911, how did you find it over here ? Were you visiting or have a friend look at the car for you ?

I checked out some of your web pages, I like the old cars and the pictures were great, the blonde really sets off the black & white.

Todd
