Bilstein strut play...safty issue?

I noticed a bit of play when checking the drivers side wheel bearings but when I removed the bearings and checked out the races, they both looked good. Checking further, I grabbed the strut and the movement, from what I thought, is from the upper mount. I searched the forum and found that I probably need new bushings in the insert. So my question...

I have a DE on Wednesday and don't want to miss it. Is it safe to run with the strut like this? Keep in mind that there is only a little bit of play and no clunking sounds coming from the front end.

Thanks, Mike

My struts have tape in them to build up the bushings and keep things straight. Seems to work fine. I'm sure your struts are safe as is.

Thanks Eagledriver

Any suspension experts care to chime in?

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

No safety issues here,....:)

All you'll get is variable camber with worn bushings.

Recommendation for strut bushing replacement (when you decide you need it):

Craig Garrett (G2 Performance)

garrett@iserv.net

He charged $100 +shipping with a 2 day turn around time
And his bushings are wider than Bilstein

Take care,
