I believe the new course you are refering to is called BeaveRun. Our PCA Region (CVR) has scheduled a DE event there this year but it looks like the track won't be finished in time (by May 10th). You can check out the tracks web site at

It looks like it's going to be a really nice facility. But who came up with that name?

Is it pronounced Beaver-Run, or Beeve-Run, or something else? Tracks need manly names. I'm not sure if that one qualifies.

The name came because it is in Beaver county PA. It is pronounced Beaver Run but spelled BeaveRun. The Reason I believe it is spelled this way is because of the Ski Resort in CO. called Beaver Run Also (They already have the name).

Well, that's not so bad. I guess it's only a matter of time before tracks start becoming marketing tools for corporations. "Monster.com Motorsports Park," or "Viagra Speedway" is probably just around the corner.

Damn, I'd sure hate getting stuck in "Monster(.com) Beaverun".

Jack,

That is the track I believe I mentioned to you. We had been discussing the beauty of Willow Springs, I think. Beaverun is rather near (less than 40 minutes from my home). I'm excited about it, and there are some interesting folks involved in the project including local Porsche and BMW gurus.

The only real question concerning me is whether my 912E suspension project will be completed in time for some time at the track this summer!

Way cool! Sounds like an excuse for a Pittsburgh transplant to load up the car and come north to try out the new track

Just my thoughts.....but the name sucks! It is spelled Beave Run, but I guess if you squish them together you have the ability to use the "r" twice. Beyond that, it doesnt bring about legendary track names....Watkin's Glen, Lime Rock, Laguna Seca.......BeaveRun???

And yet... a brand new road course, by any name at all, is still pretty sweet.

Besides Beave_Run, PA is getting a track near Harrisburg. Rausch Creek is the name. Last I heard they were some environmental issues as the site is on an old strip mine. But the east coast is getting a second road course at Summit Point. Bill Scott is having some charachteristics of Nurburing built into it. This track should be ready by fall. We can only hope all get completed in spite of the economic issues.
Best
