Engine Drop Clinic
There will be an engine drop clinic, including free beer, at my home in Tenino, WA on Saturday, January 19. The garage has not heat, barely has four walls and is detached from the house, so dress warmly. The 'moment of truth' will likely occur around noon-2:00, I'm guessing, depending upon folks' schedules.
If the weather permits, we'll also have a wiffle-ball golf tounament on the lawn at the same time. ![]()

I've got a broken head stud. So, this means that I need to install more aggressive cams and SSIs, doesn't it?

That'd be my route...God hates a coward!
I am visiting JohnW today to ascertain if I am in the same condition. I think not, but want the assurance only a warm shop and a knowledgable tech. can give me. Plus maybe he has one of those black caps that go over the windshield wiper bolt. The wind and rain was so bad in town yesterday that mine flew off at some point. Sun, where are ye? John in Seattle

I heard someone on Monday say "better to be a coward for five minutes than a dead hero forever." I hope we can all disagree with that together.

Let me get this. You're in WA and in the middle of January, in WA, you are throwing an "engine drop workshop", remembering of course - that this is January in WA, in a blow-thru lean-to... in WA... in January. Oh, and the golf! in WA.........

Exactly! I failed to mention that if it is snowing and you want to play golf, bring 'snow shoes.' Perhaps we'll have whiskey ready, just in case.
Oh, the garage is big enough for two cars and it has a garage door, so it's not particularly drafty. I'll probably fire up a 'hot dog' propane heater for folks who dressed for a carribbean cruise.

Sounds like a good opportunity for a WebCast ... for entertainment, and documentary purposes, too! Got a phone line in the 'temporary' shelter?

You gotta be kiddin. I don't recede to my garage in the evenings to hear a ringing phone. But phone lines are pretty easy to install (the garage is about six feet from the phone service box), so if anyone has a camera and can deal with the technological issues, I'd broad cast this exciting event around the world. My fifteen minutes of fame.

Well, I knew you were going to say that ... just giving you a little spur in the side to move the computer out to the garage for the occasion ... install ICQ, and the camera software. And I'll hook up a second monitor to this dual-head video card ... watch the webcast on one screen and provide almost live commentary on the 'BIG' event ...

Actually, a cheap camera thing may be in the box of peripherals that came with the new (several months ago) computer. But then I'd have to learn how to set it up and use it. We'll see.
Wouldn't I need a "host?" I may need one anyway since I hope to post the still pics I will be taking. Ron, I'm hoping the meek will inherit the earth

Super,
Nevermind all the techno-babble about web-casts. Let's get our priorities straight! What kind of BEER are you serving?? And, is there a well stocked grocery store near your shack that offers Sierra Nevada ales?

Now I think Doug's got the right idea! You know what they say about a "Beer fridge" right? "If you stock it, they will come!" So, Supe, I'm not quite sure where Tenino is, so how long do you think it would take to get there from Redmond? I just might have to come out and infiltrate this secret SCWDP meeting!

Redmond to Tenino on a saturday. . . I'ld say 1.5hr. But then again; January weather. . .hmm, at least a "Beer fridge" will be easy.
I just might have to come out just to keep an eye on any infiltrators. ![]() '81 SC COUPE |
