Brad Penn Racing Oil Reccomendation

As I do not use this oil currently, I can make no statements regarding personal experience. However, a very reputable engine rebuilder in my part of the country recently released this to all of his customers dating back to 1998.

http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/Oil_Concern.pdf

I know this subject is highly debatable so just digest it for your own knowledge and make the your own informed decision.

And here is another link that is nice testament to these folks at Raby's Aircooled Technology--no affiliation to them, and not yet a customer.

I understand the recommendation of BP, but this Raby guy is also selling "Snake Oil". What a dubious name. Thanks, but I think I'll pass.....on the snake oil, that is.

Justin: sorry for the gruff responses from the crowd. The oil debate has been hashed out for the last few years: Synthetic vs Dino, Brad Penn vs Mobil 1, tastes great vs less filling...

Davet: I am a deeply committed to Jesus ("religious fanatic") and a big proponent of Brad Penn. 2 strikes against me huh? I will admit that in public it is a major faux pas to meddle with religion, other people's kids, politics, and what brand of oil you use. In the meantime, shouldn't we all play nice with the new kid in class?

Por_sha911- I think poor Dave was just referring to how fanatical some of us are about our oil. After all, unless you have a degree in chemical engineering, work for an oil company, and can speak with scientific experience, then it's all faith based.......

Justin, sit back and watch the bee's nest you (with good intentions) poked.

Brad Penn won't be your imaginary friend,..but certainly WILL be a REAL measurable friend to your P-car.

Navarro and many others have done their homework,..

It's the only thing I put in my engine.....I'm cool with several other selections but not of the school of thought that says "ahhh, zinc and phosphorous won't matter" (ahem,..)

Religious comments, studies, comparisons, etc. are easy compared to oil discussions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Best,

Doyle

I just bought some Amsoil 5w30 for my 2010 MazdaSpeed3 the other day and the guy at the shop selling the oil said "Brad Penn is better"... Of course he couldn't tell me why it was better than my Amsoil and I've been an Amsoil user for my cars for the past 3 years and I'm very happy with the results.

Incidentally, don't go looking for Brad-Penn in a container that says 'Racing Oil' on it. They stopped that about a year ago in favor of 'High Performance Oil' on the container.

I thought religous fanaticism in the South was restricted to SEC football these days.

I've met and discussed air-cooled religous issues with Jack Raby. He's the real deal - a seat-of-the-pants style of natural engineer who reminded me of Smokey Yunick. Perhaps if your style of faith flows only from the Vatican downward, then I can see how an empirical approach could irritate (not to mention he's not of the S CA persuasion of experts).

Now, can we get back to grammer and spelling?

as long as we are choosing, put me down for:

Coke over Pepsi
Oreos over Hydrox
Mary Ann over Ginger (unless you allow cross pollination between series, and then I'll take Ellie May).

Maybe "grammar" would serve a bit better..................

Helll,..I don't even watch football and have never equated religion with SEC football,..although I've witnessed my share of zealots in both camps.

Air-cooled religion? Cool stuff, I hope,..unless someone says I'm hell bound should I drive something water-cooled...............

Stay up your oil analysis for Z & P !!!!!!!!

Best,

Doyle

Absolutely. I have no time for "well, I think..." I made my choice of oil based on Mr Navarro (who seems to qualify with the above conditions). So, who remembers the "Chip War" with Lorenb?
p.s. My post was with a smile (no offense taken).
