John Paul Jr. - his next race

John Paul Jr. - Porsche driver, winner, and his next race. Found this on FB. Great driver and his next race is the most important. Let's hope he can overcome this...

John and I actually rubbed fenders at 200 mph a few times. We had lots of fun racing 935s and became friends.

When my son Chris was in middle school he met John at a race.
John spent a lot of time with Chris going over Chris’ shifter kart and discussing racing. All through middle and high school, John would call Chris ‘out of the blue’ asking about his racing and schoolwork.

What other Indycar driver do you know that would take that interest and effort to help a teen from 2000 miles away?

Good luck my friend.

Best,
Grady

Thanks for sharing this, Grady. I, too always admired JPJ, and I think the pic of him and his dad that Tim posted pretty much tells the story as I knew it.

Good Luck, John. I am sending you my best.

growing up i watched JPJ race at Road Atlanta and being the same age was envious.

I met JPJ about 10-12 yrs ago at of all things a Subaru arrive and drive event. It was one of those events where you show up and you drive a couple cars around a shortened AX course. JPJ was one of the "instuctors" there and when it was my turn to drive, he was sitting shotgun and gave me some pointers. What a genuine nice guy. i told him i used to watch him at Road A back in the day. later that day he was talking about the drifitng craze and he said in laughing manner " I don't know what the big deal is, we had to drive 935s that way all the time".... hilaious
