Suspension/Chassis Overhaul

Another novice question.

My '83 SC Targa is in ok/good shape, but I've hooked up with my local PCA, and already after 1.5 months ownership, I'm dying to get started on addressing the entire suspension/chassis. It's just a tad too worn and soft to be comfortable pushing it around like I want. To be accurate, I want an adjustable lower suspension, fresh bushings all around, and bracing where needed. With that said, I'm lost as to what exactly I need, in what logical order to install, and where to purchase. Being new to these cars, but fairly experienced with others, it's driving me nuts not being able to do what I want because of the different products and vendors.

The end goal is to enjoy the car in tip top shape at a few DE clinics and a little track time once in a while. It'll also must be streetable, so I can't do solid bushings or anything too crazy. Can someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction for these items?

While you say that you do not want solid bushings, I will recommend the Rebel Racing A-arm bearings. They make the ride smoother (as all proper bearings do) by reducing friction in the suspension motions.

RWebb - I found that ER site and appreciate how it suggests packages of upgrades. That's probably the way I'm going to go, with substitutions by exception.

Flieger - Good tip. I guess I'm mainly remembering my experience in my '76 BMW 2002 that had brass subframe bushings when I first got it.

Hmm, brass. Sounds alright to me. I am living with the classic E21 steering wheel shimmy. A bent sway bar as part of the strut front suspension, and rubber bushings to take loads in all directions. Not exactly precision.
