Porsche HELLA H4 lights

Hello everyone... Need some info on these type of lights. Purchased these HELLA H4 headlights and they apparently came with city lights. The city light bulb size is: 12V 4W E1 2EAT4W. Does these bulb come in amber or in a LED type? or are they suppose to be clear for these type of headlights?

thanks...

Yes they should be clear but if it's a US car, there not hooked up. Im sure you can get a LED light for any stock lamp. What car? what year? where are you at? any pictures? History of your car?

City lights are supposed to be clear. One should be able to find a replacement bulb in amber if you wanted. If you got LEDs to fit this socket, they likely wouldn't appear to give off all that much light. It's because of how the reflector is designed and that an LED emits most of its light from the end rather than the side as do regular bulbs.

Are you sure the bulb isn't in there, they came with.

An LED, as szy... said won't work.

They diffuse the light and turn the whole headlight reflector into a sort of parking light. I don't think amber would work either.

They were required in some European cities (especially in France) where it was illegal to drive with the headlights on in the city center at night due to 'light pollution'. Clear back in the 50's to the present.

I know this is a PORSCHE forum, but these lights are going into a bug. Got a very good deal for these set. The guy I got it from said it was for a porsche, but said I could use them on a bug. Since I don't have any turn signals and parking lights, I was going to use the city lights as my parking/turns. Anyways, is it possible to use them as my parking/turns???

Thanks for the info guys...

they will probably be a bit difficult (impossible) to see in sunlight... or when headlights are on...

I tried looking at that site, but apparently no luck. Or am I blind? (lol)

Does anybody have these type of headlights with these type of city lights? If so, does anybody know the LED part # to replace the clear bulbs on now?

THANKS....

Won't work.....and in many places against the law....the dinky city lights will be completely overwhelmed by the headlights when they are "on".
