Top roller style latches

Could the electric roller style latches (86-98, serial 911.624.056.03) replace the existing (86-89, serial 911.565.032.63) roller style latches?
I broke my existing 'manual' latch and was thinking that this might be a good opportunity to change it to an electrical one.
If it works, then are there any additional parts required for the transition? Do any modifications have to be made?

the electric tops have micro-switches and a controller relay, so no sense trying to use electric top header latch/motors @$600 each (new) and nothing to run them.
