A bit of a newbie here, and apologize upfront. Have a 1974 911 Carrera which I am replacing rear GKN Loebro CV Axle Assemblies on.
Also purchased 4 CV Joint Gaskets P/N: 90133229700, and thought, for some reason, that they would have adhesive on one side, but they are Blue on one side, Black on the other and don’t appear to have adhesive on either side. Try as I might, I cannot find instructions on how these gaskets should be mounted. A particular color in a particular direction? “Naked” or with some type of “gasket compound” or other “secret sauce”? Any/all advise will be appreciated… I am ready to put these in, but don’t want to screw up at this point! |

Just replaced my axles and the gaskets i got had a peel off on one side. Mine were not blue however.
If there's nothing to peel off then spray ONE SIDE with Permatex high tack and stick that side to the wheel hub and trans. hub.

74 has the older style four bolt two dowel set up so I never glue those gaskets. I know of no way to get them apart without destroying the gasket, so why make harder the next time you do it?
