Front Tbar depth different
I just put my new front Tbars in (Sway Away) and the left side protrudes about a 1/4 inch from the housing. The right side is about flush. Which is right? Does the left side need pushed in further, or did the right side go too far. It would appear that the adjuster caps will work with either, as they are quite deep.
I greased them, pushed them in and slotted them in their respective grooves at the front of the control arm, then tapped them in with a light hammer. I did note the Left and Right markings on the Tbars, but did not pay attention to which end goes in first. Are these end-directional too? ??? Thanks, Doug

Torsion bars
If the bars have started out being the same length, which I guess they should, thern if you have correctly installed then in the arm then they should protrude the same amount.
Clealry there is a tolerance but 0.25" (6mm) seems excessive. The other explanation is that the control arm must be bent. If the Torsion Bars have been prestressed as part of the manufacturing process then they will need to be installed in the correct direction. I can't see why they would be marked L & R if they were not prestressed. The L & R should be visible with the adjuster cap removed. |

I am guessing that there is something obstruction the one bar from going in all the way, either rust or grease. I will have to pull it out and knock out the dust cover at the front of the arm to inspect.
Is is possible for the bar to go too far in, or is there a stop?

Torsion bars.
The dust cover is a 'Welsh Washer' and probably won't go back again. New ones are available but tricky to fit with the arm on the car.

Thats the funny thing. I put the arms on the car, had to chase one of the front mount threads very carefully, bolted everything up, checked all the proper torques, greased my bars and slid them in carefully, and wtf! I guess removal is reverse of installation, oh well.
